THE ACHIEVER'S ULTIMATE DISCOVERY 2
In my previous writeup, I pointed out how I discovered that it was impossible to be an achievr without having goals. Then I began to point out the reasons for goal setting.I will continue from there by mentioning some other points
Goals give direction
Now that you seem to have understood the relationship between goal and vision, I would proceed to tell you that knowing what you want to achieve would ultimately give your actions a specific direction. When you have a mental picture without a definite action plan as to how to achieve them, what you are doing is fantasizing or should I say wishful thinking. But, I tell you, once you know what you want to achieve, you can go ahead to create a roadmap on how to arrive at that future you want to future in. I mean to say that, it should be obvious top you that without goals, you cant set a roadmap as there is no destination. You are simply directionless. You would therefore agree with me that having a goal prevents stress and frustrations because of the roadmap it necessitate. Your activities are thus restricted to only those that would promote achieving your goals.
Paul, in the books of record of history put it this way that ‘every athlete is temperate in all things so that they can achieve a reward’. Meaning that for you to achieve, there is a way to act. Simply put, your goals determine how you act. You create the goal and then the goal creates your actions.
Goals ginger action.
I also discovered that the reason most people complains of being bored is because they really have nothing in plans to achieve. I saw that one of the simplest way to kick out boredom is to create goals for yourself and see the eagerness with which you attack the goal and pursue your goals. This invariably will make you an achiever. You see, once you have your goals and you have the roadmap, you will find out like I found out that the eagerness to act comes by default. You will discover as soon as you start to operate your plans by eagerness that you are finding fulfillment in your goals; I mean, you will feel fulfilled while going carrying out your plans because you are on a mission. I discover that a life without goals is a life without motivation for existence, but when there is a goal, there is a reason to live. Get a goal, get a life!
Goal raises self-confidence
After seeing all these advantages, I began to look into the lives of people who have lived there lives following their goals. I saw a certain level of confidence around them, this confidence I saw came on them because of these goals. They may look like a nobody in the present tense but there goals give to them a perspective into the future tense, they know what they can achieve and therefore are confident in the present irrespective of their circumstance.. I discover that the problem or should I say cause of low self-esteem in people is because of lack of goals. When there is no goals, you are the mercy of whatever happen and therefore, lack of confidence. But when a man with low self-esteem dares to set a goal and starts to act on it, his confidences will most definitely rise up. Past achievement also by default causes you to have more confidence in yourself, meaning that you believe more in yourself based on what you have achieved in time past and this will give you the confidence you need for greater accomplishments.. it was recorded in the book of history of a young man called David who was faced with a giant named Goliath. This Goliath, apart from been a giant also was a man of war from birth and David’s goal was to bring his head down. I mean a young chap who hasn’t been trained in the art of war wants to fight a giant created for war. And to the amazement of many, this young man, David was able to kill the giant. Do you know why he was able too? He (David) reminded himself of the small things he had achieved, how that he had killed a bear and a lion before in time past. This raised his confidence and he with that confidence could slaughter the mighty giant of Gath. His accomplishment in time past gave him enough confidence to face his new goal and he became an achiever. So I want to tell you that you have a lot of gain in setting goals for yourself.
When I saw all this, I saw that it is very important that I take it upon myself to begin to challenge people to set goals. Set goals and move from the level of being nobody to the level of an achiever. Don’t limit yourself, set your goals with a possibility mindset. Take time out to determine what you want to achieve and go for it.
